Earlier today The Omni Group launched an update for the iPad version of OmniFocus which transformed it into a new universal version that will work on both the iPhone and the iPad.
Along with a couple new features, this is a pretty big step forward for OmniFocus; especially on the iPhone which had lagged behind the iPad version in a couple areas for awhile now. It's nice to see it get up to date and become in lockstep as far as options and features go between the two screen sizes. That consistency matters, and is appreciated by many more than just me I'm sure.
One of the new additions that appeals to me especially is the ability to customize what perspective is shown in the Today View widget, (previously confined to just due or due+deferred) which will lend itself highly to the list of flagged tasks I keep every day, even if it does mean that I'll have to bite the bullet and purchase the Pro features.
I'm really happy with the update, and it makes me even more happy to use the app and (hopefully soon) research new ways in which I could be using it better. The Omni Group has always been on the forefront of class-A citizen apps on iOS, and this update cements their place there even further.
