Today the Forecast team over at Dark Sky launched it's big 5.0.0 update, bringing some long-awaited features and taking the app's focus in a little bit of a new direction. Landscape for iPad support is finally here and a new 24-hour view has been introduced and carries over from iPhone to iPad and even their Apple Watch app, among other things.
That new 24-hour view is a beauty, and first tipped it's hat in the initial version of their WatchKit application - albeit even that has been updated slightly to come more in line with it's implementation in the iPhone and iPad versions. That focus on showing the next 24 hours in an easy-to-parse and beautiful way rounds out Dark Sky's feature-set nicely. I'm loving the ability to see weather conditions and temperature over time, and I'm thinking that it's finally made Dark Sky the only weather app I need on my phone.
The Forecast team has continued to prove that Dark Sky isn't done with innovation and new features, and it still continues to provide the most accurate and timely weather warnings for my phone. Also, as of today it earned itself a spot on my primary homescreen, but I'll save that for more at the end of the month. ;)
